Art Historical Significance
This piece is representative of the Limoges export trade to America and the popular early 20th-century hobby and profession of studio china painting. Haviland & Co. was the most prominent manufacturer for the American market.
Notable Features
Features a clear, well-preserved 'Haviland France' underglaze mark and a distinct, dated artist signature which adds provenance and historical context to the specific year of decoration.
Condition Issues
Minor surface wear on the foot rim from contact with surfaces; potential light scuffing on the glaze.
Conservation Recommendations
Hand-wash only with mild detergent; avoid abrasive sponges and automated dishwashers to protect the overglaze signature and front decoration.
