Subject Description
A mythological scene depicting Prometheus seated on a cloud, holding a torch to animate the clay figure of Man below him. Athena stands behind him with a spear and shield, acting as a divine overseer. Surrounding them are allegorical figures including the Fates (left) and representation of the Arts and Sciences (right), set within a celestial, cloud-filled sky.
